Started above a bookshop, on a conviction.
Wren & Aldridge was founded in 2009 by Julian Ashworth, in a single rented room above a secondhand bookshop in Bloomsbury. He had spent a decade at a larger agency and left it convinced that something was being lost — that a house, like a book, deserved to be handled by someone who had actually read it.
Eleanor Hargreaves joined as a partner three years later, bringing a background in architecture that still shapes how we photograph and describe a property today. What began as two people and a single desk is now four partners and a small register of trusted advisors — still small enough that every instruction is known by name, still stubborn enough to write every particular by hand.

Four Ideas We Won't Compromise On
Written by Hand
No listing leaves this office without a partner having stood in every room. Measurements are taken, not estimated.
Privacy as Standard
Many of our sales are never publicly advertised. We ask before a photograph is used anywhere beyond your own particulars.
An Honest Guide Price
We would rather lose an instruction than flatter a valuation. It is a policy that has cost us listings and earned us clients.
One Face, Start to Finish
The partner you meet at valuation is the partner who hands you the keys at completion. We do not pass files along.
Meet the Partners
